Film fest is aimed at younger crowd

THE Swan Theatre in Worcester is hosting a children’s film festival as part of this year’s Worcester Festival.

The film festival opened with Bee Movie earlier this week and continues with screenings of two captivating and award-winning children’s films, Spirited Away and Bridge To Terabithia over the next two weeks.

Spirited Away on Tuesday, August 12 at 10.30am is rated PG and was winner of Best Animated Feature Oscar in 2003. Directed by Hayao Miyazaki it is the story of a little girl who is trapped by a spell in the spirit world after discovering an abandoned theme park. Bridge To Terebithia is on Tuesday, August 19, at 10.30pm and is about two lonely 11-year-olds who escape from their problems at home and school by inventing an imaginary world of their own populated by trolls and magical creatures. The film is based on an awad-winning children’s book by Katherine Peterson.
