Flood alerts in force for rivers across Herefordshire

The Environment Agency has issued alerts for the rivers Frome, Lugg, and the river Leadon catchment.

River Frome

River levels have risen at the Bishops Frome river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall, with flooding of roads and farmland possible.

Flooding is expected to affect low-lying land and roads along the River Frome from Bromyard to Hereford. Other locations that may be affected include Bishops Frome and Yarkhill.

Levels are expected to remain high into today (December 5).

River Leadon catchment

River levels will remain high until Thursday, December 7.

Flooding is expected to affect low-lying land and roads adjacent to the River Leadon, including Ledbury, Much Marcle, Staunton and Tibberton. Water may be out of the bank at Upleadon Court.

River Lugg south of Leominster

River levels have risen at the Lugwardine river gauge with flooding of roads and farmland expected.

Flooding could affect low-lying land and roads adjacent to the river Lugg south of Leominster from Stoke Prior to Mordiford. Other locations that may be affected include Bodenham, Lugwardine and Hampton Bishop, with levels remaining high into today.
