A minibus carrying six people crashed off the side of the M50 and down an embankment.

The dramatic crash happened on Saturday (December 16) on the eastbound carriageway between junction two for Ledbury and one for Malvern.

“A Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crew from Ross-on-Wye Fire Station was called at 12.36pm on December 16 to an RTC on the M50,” said a fire service spokesman.

“The incident involved a minibus which had left the motorway and gone down an embankment.

“Fire service personnel made the vehicle safe while six persons had been released from the vehicle before the arrival of the fire service and were handed over to the care of the ambulance service."

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said investigations are still taking place following the incident.

They said: "Shortly before 12.30pm on Saturday, December 16 we were called to a two-vehicle collision on the M50 eastbound between junctions 1 and 2.

"The road was closed while the vehicles were recovered. Nobody was seriously injured or taken to hospital. Enquiries are ongoing."
