EASTNOR I v WORCESTER I.

SKIPPER Jabran Khalid led from the front as Eastnor coasted to a nine-wicket over Worcester at Clenchers Mill Lane in division one of the Crusader Worcestershire County League.

He took three wickets in the middle of the visitors innings to help turn 81-3 into 110 all-out, and then notched an unbeaten half-century, to lead his team home inside 20 overs.

Adeel took an early wicket when Worcester batted, and his opening partner Shahid kept the pressure on with further wickets at 34 and 48 to keep a tight rein on the run-rate.

Worcester were threatening to cut loose when Eastnor turned to their spinners, but the experienced Jim Sandford and Jabran quickly turned the tide. Sandford snared Dan Keyte who struck three sixes and a boundary in his 24, and Jabran clean bowled the patient Matt Foster (41). Wickets then tumbled to Jabran (3-18), Sandford (2-22), Shahid (3-32) and finally Atiq, and the visitors were all out in the 40th over.

Jabran stroked three fours in the first over, and the score reached 50 in the seventh over. Adeel (32) was trapped leg before by leg spinner James Wagstaff with the score on 94 in the 16th over.

There was just time for Josh Emery to hit a six and a four, and Jabran (52, including seven fours) to reach his half century before the pair secured the win.

An under-strength Eastnor seconds proved no match for Stourport in division three of the Worcestershire League.

After losing the toss, Tom Hurrell (52) held the Eastnor innings together, they were all out for 125 with just seven balls to go.

The Stourport openers knocked the runs off in 25 overs, to win by ten wickets. Ian Delo (72no) was the man in form.
