Tremendous trio

A TREMENDOUS trio from Ledbury Bowling Club came out on top beating off 24 teams at the Invitation Triples at Ledbury Green. Brian Read, Rob Jaynes and Martin White were victorious with the runners-up coming from Gloucester City Bowling Club, Hereford BC and Malvern Victoria BC.
Ledbury Bowling Club had a number of finalists at the Herefordshire finals. The Triples team of Marcus Smith, Martin Griffiths and Stephen Smith won their final. In the Pairs Rob Jaynes and Brian Read were runners-up, as were Norman Douse, Don Pugh, Mike Holmes and Dave Chewter in the rinks final. All of the above three teams will now represent Herefordshire at next month’s national finals at Worthing. Ledbury bowlers Martin Griffiths and Marcus Smith also reached the semi-finals of the singles but lost at that stage.
