THE new rugby season is just around the corner and our teams are busy preparing for the new campaign by taking to the field for a series of pre-season friendlies.

Join sports editor Mark Stanford from 2.30pm for LIVE! coverage of Ledbury RFC's latest friendly against Lydney at Ross Road.

LIVE!- Ledbury v Lydney (kick-off 3pm).

4.29pm- FULL-TIME: Ledbury 3-66 Lydney.

4.25pm- TRY! Ledbury 3-66 Lydney. The dominant visitors storm through on the left-wing, their pace too strong for Ledbury as another converted try is scored on 76 mins.

4.23pm- TRY! Ledbury 3-59 Lydney. Another flowing move on 74 mins sees the visitors score on the right-wing. The conversion is missed after the ball falls short from a tight angle.

4.21pm- A double change for Ledbury as the impressive Pete Woods and Mark Astley are substituted in the 72nd min.

4.16pm- TRY! Ledbury 3-54 Lydney. Through the move of the match on the left-wing, Lydney increase their lead in this rout by a further seven points through a flowing, passing move for the try and an easy close-range conversion on 67 mins.

4.14pm- TRY! Ledbury 3-47 Lydney. After an even period of play and Pete Wood storming through but thwarted 10 yards from the Lydney line the visitors break to score through their number 13 who goes between the posts, then converted on 65 mins.

4.04pm- TRY! Ledbury 3-40 Lydney. The visitors' number 13 gets his third try when he storms through a static Ledbury defence on 55 mins.

3.49pm- Lydney kick-off the second-half. Ledbury's Jack Wilesmith coming off at the interval is his sides only change.

3.44pm- HALF-TIME: Ledbury 3-33 Lydney.

3.40pm- Ledbury's Pete Wood is denied a try when he is tackled just four yards from the Lydney left-hand corner on 37 mins in his sides brightest move from open play. Ledbury have had a bright last five mins.

3.31pm- TRY! Ledbury 3-33 Lydney. The visitors continue their first-half domination with their fifth try, second from their number 12 which is converted.

3.22pm- TRY! Ledbury 3-26 Lydney. The visitor's number 14 squeezes past the line in the right-hand corner this time on 20 mins. The try is later converted.

3.20pm- TRY! Ledbury 3-19 Lydney. Lydney hit back with a scrum which leads to them crossing the line for a third try in the 18th min on the left-hand side. The conversion, from a difficult angle, is missed.

3.17pm- PENALTY SCORED! Ledbury 3-14 Lydney. With Ledbury's first pressure of the game, Lydne concede a penalty which fly-half Gavin Morrison duly dispatches between the posts on 15 mins.

3.14pm- TRY! Ledbury 0-14 Lydney. Awful opening for Ledbury. The visitors camp out in the Ledbury 22 and their pressure pays off in the 10th minute when their number 12 crosses between the posts.

The try is then converted moments later.

3.01pm- TRY! Ledbury 0-7 Lydney. Bad start for the hosts in the second minute. After a line-out on the left, Lydney's number 13 storms through the Ledbury defence for a try to the right of the posts. It's soon converted by the fly-half.

3pm- Ledbury kick us off. Ledbury line up in black shirts with green and white trim.

Lydney line up in red shirts with black and white trim.

2.55pm- The players from both teams have returned to their dressing rooms after their on-pitch warm-ups ready for the kick-off in less than five minutes time.

2.45pm- TODAY'S LEDBURY LINE-UP: 1-Matt Panter, 2-David Hicks, 3-Will Rogers, 4-Mark Astley, 5-Giles Goodman, 6-Paul Williams, 7-James Handley (captain), 8-Phil Sales, 9-Daniel McDonald, 10-Gavin Morrison, 11-Ollie Kaye, 12-Tom Brown, 13-Jack Wilesmith, 14-Callum Briggs, 15-Peter Wood.

SUBS FROM: Kevin Murphy, Stuart Williams, Greg James, Chris Kriesel, Mark Gould, Mike Davies.

2.40pm- MANAGER'S THOUGHTS: Ledbury director of rugby Bruce Ruthven predicts a tough test for his under-strength team today.

He said: "It's going to be tough today.

"We have about six first-team players missing as they are playing cricket today but it's still important for us to ge a result as well as a run-out today."
